Prism Worldwide serves a broad range of industries and supply chains as a leading clean technology company by providing sustainable recycled plastics and end-of-life tires. Recycling end-of-life tires is a crucial step towards environmental sustainability.
Prism has introduced new patented chemistry and technology to the market, which produces novel polymers derived from ground tire rubber that can be used in a broad range of industrial and consumer applications.
Despite securing $40 million from prominent investors, including Costco's former CEO, Prism faced dual challenges: limited public awareness of its groundbreaking recycling innovations and the need to establish leadership in the competitive sustainable materials market while expanding into the US.
To compete with established players, Prism needed to highlight its unique value proposition: developing eco-friendly polymers that eliminate waste and using resources sustainably so that they’re available for the future and significantly reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, the company needed to convey its leadership narrative and build credibility among investors, partners, and key stakeholders.
To overcome such hurdles, PRLab implemented a multi-pronged strategy:
Our recommended focus was to aggressively target tier-1 and important trade publications through earned media outreach while maximizing exposure as a leading cleantech recycling company. This approach successfully created national buzz, driving social engagement and allowing Prism Worldwide to expand its sphere of influence in the eco-friending product marketplace.
We formulated a concise and executable communications strategy focused on thought leadership and media outreach to establish Prism as a critical organization driving innovation to reduce pollution and convert waste into valuable materials. Our campaign:
Our strategic approach to earned media sets Prism World apart from competitors in the media landscape. We established valuable press allies within the trades, like Rubber World, Innovations & Tech Today, and Tire Technology International. We are starting to get noticed within the tier-1 media ranks as well, such as Fast Company. This Series A funding announcement and media outreach strategy was extremely successful – capturing more than 14,300,000 media impressions and $174,129 in advertising equivalency. Our objective remains:
We are building upon this current momentum and taking the campaign even further by continuing to pitch the Prism Worldwide story to trade media and tier-1 reporters and editors.
