About Responsibly

The supplier data pipeline for responsible sourcing

Responsibly was founded with one singular focus - to make every purchase in the world responsible. They believe that there's a global force for change locked inside the world's procurement departments, and their mission is to build the technology infrastructure to enable every procurement hero to source responsibly at scale.

Responsibly works as a supplier data platform for responsible procurement. They provide a one-stop-shop for responsible supplier data across a wide variety of data providers, to make it easier for all to source responsibly.

The Challenge

The Danish startup just secured $2m in funds during their pre-seed investment round, getting them the funds they needed to soft-launch the first version of Responsibly. The investment round resulted in them being one step closer to realising their goal of giving corporate purchasers the tools they need to put social and environmental impact alongside price on the supplier scorecard. 

Not only was the funding round a great success, the cause behind it is also greatly beneficial towards sustainable supply chain management. So, Responsibly had to get the word out there! PRLab was contacted to deliver full PR support for getting global coverage in Engling outlets.

PRLab's Strategy

At PRLab we’ve developed our own PR model for successful visibility that consists of 3 key pillars, each item nurtures the other to make sure we proactively build visibility, thought leadership and content that gets picked up by the media. For Responsibly, we focused on content surrounding the funding announcement and gaining global media attention.

Content Creation

The funding announcement was the key focus of this PR launch and would direct the different angles from which we wrote this story. The focus was placed on helping Responsibly gain brand awareness and a secured media position through sharing meaningful content.

Media Outreach

As part of the launch strategy, we set out to finalize the press release distribution, commenced pitching and (where necessary) scheduled interviews. Based on the target audience, we went for an exclusive with TechCrunch, focusing on landing “the big one” at client request. After the exclusive, we targeted key outlets for the funding news. We made sure to have Responsibly noticed by getting featured articles that clearly described their purpose and what they intended on doing with the funds. One way of ensuring media coverage is by tailoring the content according to the outlets being pitched to.


As a short project, the results yielded some great success. A highlight being getting covered by TechCrunch.
