WeTravel is an all-in-one digital payment platform committed to meeting tour operators' and agencies' needs within the travel industry. It simplifies the complex flow of payments by providing tools that manage transactions with ease and offer financial planning and client invoicing. WeTravel offers automated solutions with an intuitive interface to level up the financial performance of small and medium travel businesses by means of effective handling and managing of payments, bookings, and refunds.
In a very competitive market, WeTravel had the first prepaid travel credit card for all travel operators in the US. The goal now was to raise awareness and instill trust within the small to medium-sized travel operators that this card could facilitate smoother financial processes that would help these sections of the travel industry. WeTravel needed to extol the main virtues of the card, such as seamless transactions that help operators manage supplier and client payments domestically and internationally across different markets.
With WeTravel, a detailed press release was developed to showcase the launch, drawing attention to how WeTravelβs market offerings reinvented how travel companies interact with suppliers and agents. PRLab then created a media list and sent the news embargoed press release to 94 highly targeted journalists across various publications to ensure publications could prepare coverage at their discretion. Regular follow-ups and communication were made to ensure the news got out. This helped ensure the prepaid travel credit card from WeTravel was featured in targeted publications on time and with depth.
PRLab developed a media outreach list in tiers, starting with high-authority publications or cities in the travel industry or Fintech. Tailored pitches were crafted depending on how WeTravel's prepaid credit card might simplify financial processes for travel operators based on the audience reach of the publication. Throughout this time, PRLab monitored the potential for new collaborations. PRLab used social media platforms, creating engaging content that fits into WeTravel messaging to drive meaningful engagement further and increase reach for their announcements and launch.
PRLab capitalized on this moment of international growth and initiated targeted campaigns in Latin American markets, namely Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. Press releases were adapted for the different markets and regions, and media relations in their countries were coordinated for consistent messaging. Entry into the Latin American markets was timed well by avoiding political turmoil in these countries for maximum impact, such as elections or economic-based protests.
The PR Campaigns across various markets achieved a cumulative online readership of 6,590,000 through the Latin American media. WeTravel media campaigns reached 18 digital outlets and two national newspapers. With an estimated online reach of 398K from launch coverage in the US alone, this signalled a successful product debut.
